Analysis types
This window follows the "Comparison Scheme" window. Having chosen sounds to analyze, your next choice is to decide what type of analysis to employ.
Currently you have four choices:
"Computer comparison by dynamic-time warping": here elements highlighted in sounds are analyzed by a dynamic distance-based algorithm
"Comparison by parameter": here elements highlighted in sounds are compared on the basis of summary statistics of acoustic parameters
"Comparison by visual analysis": here sounds are compared by visual inspection. Pairs of spectrograms are displayed on the screen, and observers are asked to score their similarity.
"Export parameter statistics to spreadsheet": here summary statistics of acoustic units are exported form the database into common spreadsheet formats.
At this stage of the analysis process, you must choose one type of analysis, and click "Next step". The following steps differ depending on the analysis type you have chosen, and are therefore dealt with separately.
